And I must say the AI is (a lot)better are not crashing them off-track than PCars'. That's why I chose to buy 2 extra copies with the Steam sale for my other PCs so I can play it with friends against AI. Pcars has AI, Assetto modding, rFactor 2 both. The thing is rFactor 2 is without a doubt the best sim which combines modding AND AI in multiplayer. But I'm kind of glad they bit the bullet and stopped selling online as DLC/membership even though I paid for it way back when. But I'm sure 397 Studio will bring that gradually. That's why I only have 16 hours logged since they switched to Steam. So the physics are good, but the game needs polishing in a lot of areas(graphics also, but menu's also feel. And to be fair I didn't even get that properly working yet. Setting up a server with a non-standard car/track combo has you package a race event in the 'MAS-utility'. Running Multiplayer in Assetto is a chore compared to Pcars, but a breeze compared to RFactor 2. Personally I really wanted to love rFactor 2 from the get-go, but being in development so long, Assetto and Pcars have kind of blown it away. If that isn't checked the wheel will either 'fall' to the left or right, depending which side of the middle you are on. What also could have caught you out is the 'Invert forces' checkbox which the Gmotor engine has. So if I where you I'd play around a bit more with the demo. And all three systems run rFactor 2 well, but also Assetto, PCars, heck they even did Nascar Racing. A lot are used to set all forces except the master(the rest being spring, damper or constant f.i.) to 0% but a lot of games don't like that, so against general advice, mine are always at 100/100/100 (on my T500, G25 AND CSR). If I remember correct, collisions will be felt, but no centering and road feel f.i.Īnd don't forget your wheel settings in control panel in Windows. You should select the appropriate wheel(say G25) in the controller setup, or all bar some FFB effects won't work. GT Legends and Game Stockcar suffer from this too. Sounds like you didn't set the FFB right.
Is there some kind of bug in the demo that doesn't provide the same quality ffb as the full game? I've been trying the rFactor 2 demo and I have to say I'm surprisingly disappointed in the ffb after being told and reading so often that it is some of the best out there. good call!!! i just activated it on steam so im good to go and i didn't have to buy it again:yes: I just recovered My Steam Key and Activated RF2 on My Steam Acct. Good call on that!!! I didnt buy it through Steam.
Moreover, as mentioned earlier, the latest nVidia driver seems to be a giant leap forward speaking about stability, I get hardly any crashes lately with my quite heavily overclocked 980 ti. Really looking forward to DX11 and VR support, at the moment I don't fancy "changing" my desktop layout for some hours of racing when I can do so with just putting the Rift on with other titles.
I can stress that mod support via Steam workshop is one of the easiest ways I know, lots of good content already, staying up to date automatically and from what I have seen lots of modders are switching to that way of distribution lately. Long time ago that I moved, but it worked flawlessly for me. Maybe you bought it non-Steam and didn't move to Steam yet? You can have a look here ().
